Attorney Pickering: “Convince people to raise the tolls.” FOF: “Would you promise to use the money for the ferry?” Pickering: “I can’t promise that.”
The City Council passes a Resolution
Senator Derrick Shepherd challenges DOTD’s Asst. Secretary, Gordon Nelson, to “Find the money!” Shepherd: “If we can’t, none of us deserves our jobs.”
Resolving that the DOTD / CCCD reconsider its decision to not reinstate the midnight hours.

2006 Legislative Session June 15 DOTD #1 & # 2 consulted - DOTD convinces Rep. Arnold they will restore the hrs. without legislation. Bill is dropped.
June 9 - 300 attend, including Rep. Arnold, Councilmen Fielkow & Carter. DOTD & CCCD are no-shows.
June 2006 - Legislative Auditcomes out -CCCD has $3.8 million in “Operational fund for bridge & ferries.” & $43 MILLION total funds instead of funding the ferry, they chose to give $1.2 million to RENOVATE THE CCCD OFFICES !
Sept. 25 Superdome reopens. Because ferry shuts at 8:45, WB fans join 70,000 to fight traffic & search for parking.
